Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin
Like a house of cards
One blow from caving in
I kinda like to think along the lines of how I forgot to write, but actually, what I did forget was my password.
Aging isn’t graceful after all. Yes happy 2011, you non-existant readers you, and Hello Again.
In my ‘effort’ to be different and trying not to be like the usual blogger, I have very badly neglected my blog. As some of you know, avrilchan.com was bought over by a cybersquatter who asked for USD250 in return for my domain name.
So yes, as you can tell I didn’t agree to the price tag.
It has been so long that I forgot how to sign in, and I still have nothing to say. Well it has been a good 6-7 years running, and while I cannot find the strength to bid adieu, I also cannot find something inspirational to blog about.
Maybe inspiration will come eventually. Just not today.
But yes, all is well and good. And thank you for reading!
Tick tock time is running out
You were meant from the get go
To pull your finger free
Invest your fears invest your tears
Watch it burn in flames
Invest your fears invest your tears
Watch it flow in vain
Tick tock the end is near
You were never meant to set your spirit free
Last week our team, The Hiccups submitted our entry for the Digi Pimp My Broadband challenge.
This was our entry, which won us a spot alongside another 19 teams for the challenge.
Today we completed a super challenging course which sent us breathlessly running all over One Utama. From dancing to modelling and completing challenges which tested our endurance and fitness level, we managed to finish the race. While we take the time now to catch our breaths, allow our pictures to speak for themselves
Us camwhoring whilst running!
Digi Pimp My Broadband Challenge with It’s a Hit! Batting Cages
We headed to the Batting Cages first. Each of us took our turns hitting the balls and managed to come away with the score of 16 balls, one of them being a HOMERUN!
The homerun! by David
Digi Pimp My Broadband Challenge with Celebrity Fitness
Next we headed to Celebrity fitness where we were required to each run 800m in the fastest time possible. The recorded time will then be calculated for an average speed/timing for the team.
We headed to the Rainforest shortly after to complete the Bull Eye! task.
Digi Pimp My Broadband Challenge with Rainforest One Utama (THE DIGI SUMPIT CHALLENGE!)
Digi Pimp My Broadband Challenge with Nokia
After completing the task we went to the next challenge to watch a Digi advertisement using a Nokia to answer one question. The question had to be decoded and we managed to do it in record time. After this station we ran back to Mardi Gras for a dancing competition as we had a limited time frame.
Digi Pimp My Broadband Challenge with Mardi Gras
We had to pole dance (omg) to some music with the theme ‘Athletic’. We choreographed some warm-ups, wushu/kungfu and rounded it up with some monkeying around the poles. It was fun!
Digi Pimp My Broadband Challenge with Swatch
Next we rushed to Swatch where we had to produce a 30-second commercial involving both Digi Internet and Swatch. We wrote a fantastic script which goes like this:
When you want to surf and work online, sometimes you have to be aware of the time as well.
With world class Internet service, you need world class timing.
You can only get great time management with Digi Internet and Swatch!
We’re The Hiccups, saying HELLO!
Digi Pimp My Broadband Challenge with…Digi
We then ran to the Digi store for the next task! Having to log onto Digi Music to create our own playlist called The Hiccups, we added a Lady Gaga and an Akon song onto it. That was easy!!
Last but not least we headed to our last stop, Quiksilver. Once there we rummaged through a basket of clothes to model. The picture we took had to be uploaded to Facebook and tagged

Don’t we look like models?
Upon completion of all the tasks we ran back all the way to Mardi Gras to clock in. So here we are, completing our final task – BLOGGING!
Thank you Digi Broadband and Nuffnang for the wonderful opportunity to participate. May the best team win!
The Hiccups and other teams decked out in yellow, Digi rules!
When was the last time you ventured to this part of Subang, where all the airports here used to serve as the main Malaysian airport for all flights in and out (and around) Malaysia?
I bet the last time you came here, if it were within the past 5 – 6 years, you either came to get your passport done at the Immigration, or had excellent seafood at Lala Chong OR western at Mama Chop, Papa Grill, situated across the road from here.
The Skypark Terminal, once known as Terminal 3, has now evolved from a ghost town of Domestic Flights to a mini shopping paradise of sorts. Kudos to MAS for the facelift and makeover!
You may be wondering what I am doing here. No, I am not taking any flights, I ain’t going anywhere for now.
I am here for the MAS Touchdown at Skypark Terminal event, where great performers the Rashdan Harith Band, Liyana Fizi, Najwa Mahiaddin, Ady Suwardy and Pesawat were scheduled to play. Jasmine from GO also invited George Wong, Ariff Abu Bakar, Daymien and An Honest Mistake (woohoow!) to entertain the crowd for the Doppelganger open-mic session.
Imagine my surprise when I walked in here to find the whole place completely abuzz with activity! There was the music, and the bazaar going on and I bumped into 4 ex-classmates as well
It was a nice surprise to see you guys again, Sharifah, Lenny and Nadiah

I also joined a Blogger competition that allows me to talk about my experience here. Here it is, my personal account.

Independent boutiques, online sellers and individuals were invited to sell they’re goods, and partial proceeds were pledged towards charity.
The event is dedicated to a few charity organisations, namely WAO (Women’s Aid Organisation), Food Band and Bandar Harapan.

WAO had a booth to inform the passers-by on the importance to protect women and children against violence. Here they have set up posters and standees to teach the public on gender equality, and how to say no to violence. They also had a puzzle competitions where people were required to piece the puzzle together in the best and fastest time to stand a chance to win WAO merchandise.
There was also a Free Game Zone set up where the public was invited to play Guitar Hero/Rock Band for free, but were encouraged to leave a donation of any amount in the glass container set up next to the console.

I managed to meet a few of the performing artistes here as well:

Ady Suwardy

The Rashdan Harith Band

Part of The Thick

An Honest Mistake

George Wong aka 2storeyheart

Daymien and band

Ariff Abu Bakar
Here are some performance photos taken with my phone of An Honest Mistake and Rashdan Harith Band:

Did I mention earlier, 100% proceeds from today goes to charity?
Besides the entertainment and bazaar and this competition, there was also an auction of flight tickets to holiday destinations like Langkawi and Bangkok, starting as low as RM50.

Do you even know that MAS has held the award for the WORLD’S BEST CABIN STAFF’ for 6 years? I had a chance to speak with some on-ground staff, ticketing people, security guards and a few stewardasses, and they really are really, really nice!

Also met Jasmine, the superwoman behind GO, Doppelganger and Indie Youth Fest
Unfortunately I cannot stay till the end as I am due for another competition happening at One Utama. As I end this entry and hope for a solid chance to win one of the two cameras, here’s wishing all the other contestants, luck. (Haha, not really!)

Have a heart. If you’re around the area, come join in the fun and contribute to charity, the event runs till 8 pm tonight!

So a few of us Nuffnangers got together to try out this challenge sponsored by Digi and organised by Nuffnang.

We submitted our entry, half an hour before the deadline:
..and received this in the mail yesterday!
My running feet have run out of ground
I plunge off the edge; free-falling
Into a tangled mass of limbs of the others before me
